My wife was proof reading the Spanish version of my latest book “Street Survival Skill” (get a copy if don’t have one yet, I promise you’ll love it just like everyone else). She commented how complete the book was and how much research went into it.
Just when my ego was about to peak she dropped the bomb “You could also follow some of your own advice. Lose weight…”. Ouch! That hurt but she was right. My blood pressure is good, blood tests are fine, but I should drop a few pounds for sure.
What I did was intermittent fasting, just eat lunch, then 24hs later lunch again. This alone greatly restricts your calorie intake. We already eat pretty healthy so that stayed the same.
The first day was a bit harder, by the second day I was fine and by the third day I was used to easting just once a day. Didn’t feel the need to eat more than that.
Overall, the 24hs fasting eating habit has several pros:
-Its easy. You cant get any easier than … not do something.
-I soon realized I has a lot more time when I didn’t have to stop whatever it was I doing to go eat.
-Already within the first couple days I was feeling better, with t a clear head, focused. It was maybe the most productive week I have in the last year.
-Since the caloric restriction is so high, you can grab a bite once in a while.
Cons?
If you are already very skinny then this may be too much.
I missed sitting at the table with the family.
Other that, I liked it a lot and maybe I’ll keep doing it for a while longer,
Fernando
